Tbh, I feel like fans who don’t get her character miss the entire point of the series. Akito is as much integral to the themes of Furuba as Tohru and perhaps even more, since she holds the keys to the curse.

She’s the antagonist so she isn’t supposed to be likeable. If she is pissing people off, then she’s fulfilling the role really well. The series just wouldn’t be the same without her. Akito adds most of the drama, mystery, tension, and darkness that make Furuba stand out from most shoujo mangas. I also still don’t get why readers need to forgive fictional characters or why liking them is a reflection of their personal values.
