• Darrel Barnes - CoD: Blunt force trauma to the head, using a wooden board. He currently is stuck in the bottom of a sink, because the board used to kill him was reused in home renovations, to patch the bottom of the cabinet below the sink. He is technically an "evil" spirit, but you'd be homicidal too if you were forced to live in the suburbs and listen to HGTV and Hallmark every waking hour with no breaks.
• Jeffrey Donahue - CoD: Suicide, asphyxiation. Jeffrey is also murderous and malevolent, but he is so small and silly looking that no one can take him seriously, which drives him bonkers. He can only take on a corporeal form once a year, and he haunts and kills three people each time, so he's actually got a really high body count, he just looks like
  if a marshmallow had a spell cast upon it to be a real boy.
• Stanley Fitzgerald - CoD: Blunt force trauma to the back of head He's actually really nice, despite being kind of scary looking. He and Dewey are tombmates and coworkers, as they haunt the same area - a rundown tourist trap gift shop, which they "work at" because they are very, very board.
• Dewey Raegan - CoD: Extended exposure to chlorine gas Dewey acts as an annoying sibling to Stanley, and is also kind of a jerk. A lovable jerk, but still. He's a nice enough guy, and overall you can count on him, but he's a poltergeist, and he likes to use his abilities to cause problems for fun.
• Garth O'Malley, and... Garth. - CoD: Murder, but specifically, stabbed in the head. Garth's soul was split into two halves via magic ritual, one containing all of his pre-death memories, and one with all of his post-death memories. Because the trauma of death is what causes ghosts to look... weird, Garth O'Malley looks very normal, and Other Garth looks Just As Strange As You Can Imagine. Other Garth is a lot nicer, though, as dying really puts things into perspective. Garth O'Malley is kind of an impatient asshole.
• Gwyneth Grey - CoD: Also suicide, also asphyxiation After her tragic, early end, Gwyneth teams up with local 70's poltergeist, Markie, to help other ghosts find closure and pass on, by solving cold cases. She may look timid, but she's actually a bit of spitfire, and has absolutely no reservations about doing anything to solve a case.
• Markie Rutger - CoD: Torture. He was... unfortunately very hardy, and it took a lot to kill him. A mischievous poltergeist, skateboarder, and Gwyneth's partner in (solving) crimes. He is the only one she really trusts, and she is the only person who can tolerate him. Despite working together out of mutual spite and bloodlust, they have a surprisingly wholesome friendship, and are very communicative and affectionate with one another.
• Joshua Blanche - CoD: Blood loss from being stabbed, in tandem with drowning. He's a laid back spirit, who actually would have moved on to the afterlife just fine, had he not been bound to a random human woman by absolute chance, and now has to stay on Earth until she dies. A lesser person might kill her to get this right, but he's not a monster, and he thinks she's good company, so now he's just her Weird Roommate.
• Blinky - CoD: Electrocution Blinky looks kind of intimidating, but he's a huge softie. He's mute, and communicates mostly via morse code.
