they're planning to remove the ranked queue from time to time

Specifically, the current plan is that the ranked Historic queue won't be available for roughly the first month of a new set (to try to keep all attention focused on the new Standard). Then after a month or so the Historic ranked queue comes back, which probably coincides with around the time the Standard meta has mostly coalesced down into a handful or refined decks and people are starting to get itchy for some variety.

Just wanted to make sure it didn't sound to the OP like they were just removing the Historic queues randomly or that we have no idea when they'd go or come back.
