I was going through a bit of a slut phase since I was leaving town soon, and was interested in a woman I'd met on OKCupid who I'd spent a fair sum of money buying dinner and movie tickets for, had just fooled around with a guy earlier in the evening (I'm bi), and was going to just stay home. Instead, I felt an urge to go out. Went to one bar and ran into the girl I was interested in. We chatted, not much interest on her part though. Then I met a second woman and got her phone number.

Went to a second, outdoor bar, had a few beers and a friend gave me a small bump of ketamine (not really my thing, but I rarely turn down free drugs).

Sat down with a few people I knew, met a friend of theirs I'd never seen before, and after 5 minutes of chatter (which I can't remember any details of for the life of me, because ketamine) I asked her if I could kiss her. She said yes, then I asked her if she wanted to come back to my place (I'm usually never so...forward, but I was on drugs and in a slut phase). She said no but I got her phone number.

The next night at a concert, saw the third girl, and stood (in her words) "uncomfortably close" to her while trying to think of something to say. ("Oh, you're that girl I drunkenly propositioned for sex last night!" seemed a bit crass). A few people went out for food and more beer at an all-night restaurant after the concert, and we ended up sitting across from each other.

I texted her: "I'd like to see you again." She looked at me across the table and texted back: "I'd like that." I texted her: "I have to go, but my offer from last night is still there..." Her (politely ignoring what a pig I was/am): "I'll be free tomorrow night." I got a taxi home, and she texted me on the way: "You left your backpack here..." She brought it with her on our first date the next day, laughed at me about it, and we're still together.

We're four months in this week, I decided to stay in town for her, and it's still going awesome. If I hadn't decided to go out that night, the first girl had been more interested, hadn't gone to the outdoor bar, hadn't done any ketamine, hadn't gone to the concert the next night, hadn't left my backpack...I still can't believe it.
