Yeah but the problem is that Gege already made her stronger prior to this chapter. There wasn't a point where anyone thought "Alright, Maki needs to learn how to swing a sword" or "Maki needs a better technique". She was already known as one of the best cursed tool users and was already shown to be a proficient martial artist, everything she learned at jjh and in the kukuru unit can still be applied tin her fighting even after getting perfect HR.

Saying she is the most distant from Gojo and actually showing it are two different. And as faras we been shown she's no more distant than Panda and Inumaki

Even Toji as far as we are aware also had the same training as Maki.

Making Maki stronger can make sense, even though Gege already did make her stronger not even a week prior to the current events. This training in the middle of a battle does not make much sense to do in this case, because it definitely halts the flow of this mini arc, to me at least.

If Gege really wants Maki to reach her second enlightenment, then I personally don't think this was the way to do it.
