I made a jacket out of nylon fabric, let me tell you how it feels!

1- not all nylon is waterproof, see pt 4

2- not all nylon is scuff, snag and tear resistant or durable. Nylon has to be the right tenacity, right weave, right filament to meet all of these features. And to make claims, you need documentation to back this up.

3- not all and actually not most nylon is breathable. Nylons breathability rating can be very poor. Look at CFM. And to claim breathability, you need standardized testing documentation to back this up.

4- there are 3 levels of water resistance. Water repellent, water resistance and waterproof. To be waterproof & make legal claims…yes I said legal…it has to have documentation that supports this

I have 25 years in outdoor fabric, specifically nylon . I can talk for days about nylon polymers, filament, testing, durability, breathability, waterproof ratings and DWR blockchains.

Im not trying to bring you down, bit you can’t make blanket claims like this especially in the outdoor industry…
