The Mandalorian - Chapter 8 - Discussion Thread!

It might be just me but while this finale was great, I was a little disappointed in three things, all of which mainly center on how little impact these scenes had on me:

1) Mando (or should we be calling him Dinn or Jinn? Didn't properly hear it) and his near-death. I'm not saying he should've died, but Cara and BY and Carl Weathers left for like 2 minutes. Maybe have them leave for a little while longer and endure another shooutout, so that Mando/IG's return has better impact.

2) It felt like the armorer was making a "sacrifice" of her own by staying behind to clear the Beskar. But after that one (awesome) fight scene, we didn't see her fate. Again, not saying she had to die or escape, but maybe if we saw the tunnels were getting more and more troopers after that battle, to make her situation seem more hopeless and ambiguous.

3) The ending was badass, but again, something felt off for me. After IG's sacrifice was a powerful scene and taking down the TIE fighter was rad, but after all is said and done and the battle is over, the town is just...cleared out? "Well, we're just gonna stay hear, clean up, and now everything is back to normal. Hey, maybe we'll go back to the sewer to help out that armorer do some salvaging." It felt pretty tame in tone.

I'm glad we got to see Mando, his name, IG's redemption, and the future mission of the series. But I wish the stakes were a little higher and more "permanent" per say, for this season finale.
