This is more Ethnology/Geography related question: What do you think my ethnicity is? :)

Thank you all for your answers! The only reason I wanted to ask is because not many people are familiar with our region, and I thought you might be interested. Because I get asked a lot about my ethnicity and region when I travel abroad.

I am from Central Asia. It was once part of USSR. You must have heard of 5 "stan" countries? (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan). I am actually from Kyrgyzstan (and my ethnicity is called Kyrgyz). If you visit our region, you will meet lots of very diverse looking ethnic groups. Tajiks for example (Tajikistan) look more like Afghans, Persians. Uzbeks look more like mix of Asians (Mongoloid) and Persians, Middle Eastern. Turkmens are good looking people (I mean their women:) Kazakhs and Kyrgyz people are "genetically speaking" EuroAsians. For instance our ancestors (Kyrgyz) were White, European looking people, and inhabited parts of Northern Russia until we mixed with Genghis Khan's Mongols, and became predominantly Asian looking. Even today if we track our haplogroup, we find that more than 64% of us are of R1a1 haplogroup (which you can find in Germany, Poland or Russia, India). So I can say that we are "European" by other "father side" (y-dna) and Asians (Mongoloid) by "mother side" (mtdna).

We have Kyrgyz people that look like East Asians (like Mongols or Koreans, Chinese), and we also have those who look more like South Americans,Native Americans, Mexican as well as European looking people with blue eyes ( they look like Russians, although they are not that many of them).

Btw, it is believed that Native American peoples' ancestors migrated from our Central Asian region and Altay, Siberia many thousands of years ago. That's why I wasn't surprised to meet Native Americans in US who looked like people from our region. It just proves that we all related to each other one way or another...
