Bars aren't bullion. They have no face value. They will usually sell with less than a dollar per ounce premium... and as mentioned, the ASE bullion (coin) has the government-backing/recognition and has over a $3 per ounce premium. Maples and ASEs aren't rare. When you sell a most bullion coins, you will get spot plus a couple bucks... if you buy a bar, it will sell for a little under spot... (the reseller you sell too will want to make a 50 cents to a dollar per ounce). Silver dropped... physical silver price/availability vs "paper" price/availability is a big issue for silverbugs. 2020 American Silver Eagle supply is already sold out... but there's like 40 million of them... so they will always have a spot + a couple bucks value. Even Maples aren't rare... few collectors.... I have a bunch of 30th Anniversary Maples (mintage 6,500) and those don't have any greater value than an ASE. Most silverbugs buy for weight.... they try to get silver for the lowest premium over spot... that is usually bars... the larger the bar, the lower the premium.
