Other Dyscalculics

Hmm, haven't heard of Watchmen, I'll have to check it out. I once had a freak idea as a kid of creating "world peace" and unity by creating an imaginary alien threat. Unfortunately the only way for that plan to really work die..

Cool word. It is interesting how complex and situational words like this are. Like I bet you couldn't say a place has poor "gezellig", like, I don't know..some commercial airports in America (repetitive, boring, uncomfortable, and no place to have privacy or be comfortable, unless you are a member of some flying club).

Lol, yes, I have seen Friends. It's pretty funny, but kinda goofy for my tastes. I used to watch it anyways with my sister in law or some female friends. Come to think of it, Friends might be a "girl's show"?

Yeah...you're totally right. It must be my stupid pride that has kept me from getting formally tested. That and insurance doesn't cover the costs, and testing I remember was about $300-500USD?

More specifically, I'm interested in understanding the specific memory or cognitive impairments I have. Is it working memory? Short term? Visualization? Memory turns out to be pretty complex, and I can't even remember everything that was covered in my psych classes.

I wonder how one could spread awareness in an interesting and novel way. The memes are cool, but we're the only audience that gets what it means. And while our disability is very embarrassing and can cause others to question our intelligence or whether or not we were paying attention, for the most part other people can't tell we have a deficit.

I feel like we've gotten heat for "not having a real disability" as well. When I tell people that I have dyscalculia, most people kinda draw a blank and wonder why its a big deal or should be mentioned at all.

I mean, I guess having to look for my car in the parking lot after class almost every time during university really sucked. I was out there, sometimes up to 45 minutes if the lot was full, just looking for my car.
