PCR vs. Compact Steel Frame

The heavier gun will "soak up" recoil and many people find heavier guns (to an extent) easier to shoot at distances.

Depending on what you find in the "joy of shooting," it may well be worth it to look at full size guns. When doing a reload with a full size gun, there's less of a chance to pinch the bottom of one's hand against the bottom of the frame and it's easier for a lot of people to find the magazine well.

Another thing that may be of concern for you, OP, is the main spring plug. If you practice reloads, it will probably get in the way if you're running a lanyard loop. In the photo, the one gun has a lanyard loop and the other doesn't. I swear, though, that CZ will choose which they put on a given gun for their non-competition guns solely based on which they have more of on the shelf that day at the factory. Replacements are cheap.
