There are some valid points here. But, it depends on the people you associate with. There are genuinely great people here - all over the gorge, really. If you’re worried about racism, be concerned everywhere you go. The thing I love most about this community is when you’re in, you’re a friend. You might even be a family. It’s a close-knit community which watches out for each other. You’re not far from where you need to be, not far from where you want to be, and it’s quiet. Do research and find something in the area that is compatible with the climate you’re seeking. You can drive in any direction and find what you’re looking for.
