Was Prescribed Cipro for a UTI, what can I do to protect myself from being floxed?

I used to take all the meds doctors gave me with no issues. Since my Cipro reaction I have allergic reactions to many foods and additives. The type of reactions where I get hives and my face and throat swell.

Just one pill of ciprofloxacin injured me very very badly. I was mostly bedbound for over a year and a half with fragile tendons, neuropathy, sensitivity to light and most foods. And a slew of other problems that weren't minor but too many to list and pale in comparison to the tendon and food problems.

Also, I did not say to stop taking an antibiotic or don't take an antibiotic. I would take them if I could. I am not anti medicine but medicine made me this way. I asked about side effects and wasn't warned. Turned out I didn't even have an infection the Cipro was prescribed for. If doctors don't like people like me they should stop creating them.

I didn't ask for this. Since I was injured and am not fully recovered, after years, from just one pill I have to find other ways to help myself. I imagine there are some other people out there who are like me even if it's just a handful. Also I cannot afford to go to a doctor and don't have insurance. I am physically unable to work after my reaction.

I cannot risk another reaction. I just can't. One pill. Just one. Nearly killed me. I'm still not even 80% or even 70%

I am not a doctor. Please go see certified medical professionals for all your health needs questions and treatments. If this is an emergency dial 911 or your countries emergency service number or go to the ER.
