A PSA about weight discrimination: i can't fit into a cara skirt

disclaimer: if you can fit into a cara skirt or other brandy, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. i'm just stating my experience with this topic.

i have thought about this for a while, and i held back because i'm not plus size and i have privilege so i thought it was unnecessary. this isn't me saying everyone has to boycott the brand or that it's shameful to wear their clothes. you can wear whatever you want, really. i just wonder why this brand's "aesthetic" is light skinned, thin, and kinda tall women with small skeletons. i can't really speak on my experience with racism because i'm not a minority/ person of color, but i definitely believe it's a part of the brand. i don't understand how my waist and hips are considered "small" by society and match the measurements given on their website, but it takes me over 20 minutes to put on an ill fitting (for me) skirt. the argument that the clothes fit well for smaller people is completely valid, but why can't they make more sizes (for smaller and bigger people) but keep the original size? why can't they add more diversity to their page? i know collecting clothing is much easier when there's only one size that "stretches," but it's kinda frustrating for people to measure their bodies, triple check if the size is right, just so an item they liked would fit weirdly, or not at all. the worst part of this is how some (not all) tik tok brandy girls blame the customers and shame their bodies, thinking that if they were just hEaLtHiEr then they could fit jUsT fInE... not recognizing everybody's different. it's okay to wear their clothes, all i'm asking is for certain people out there to understand that just because someone has an almost underweight - slightly underweight bmi or a small waist or what not does not mean they got the cheat code to eternal skinny legendness. it's okay to fit into brandy, it's okay if you can't fit. please don't blame the women, blame the company, thank you.
