Question about BTC. I want to deposit $500 worth of Btc and convert it to my cash app regular wallet.. what will the fee be roughly

Don't. I was using cash app and then all of a sudden BTC withdrawals stopped working. They'd worked for months and months. Today I sent a payment for $4.99 and it got stuck for hours.

"Due to the nature of this request, I'll need to pass this along to one of our specialists to further assist. Their hours are 8am-7pm..."

Welp, looks like all my BTC is tied up indefinitely until support sorts it out. As we are always warned, do not ever keep your money in a wallet. Run a bitcoin node on your computer, back up your keys offline and on paper, and run the wallet directly on your computer.

Getting fiat into bitcoin still means you have to deal with these middlemen and sooner or later they will freeze your funds. Really not sure how to get around it. I was previously banned by coinbase a long long time ago (no reason given). I can do large sums on Gemini but they had recent scandal and am worried they'll pull the mother of all exit scams.

Once you have your BTC as BTC and in control of a wallet and keys on your PC you're good, but getting cash to BTC... I'd trust a guy in a dark alley before I'd trust Cash App, Coinbase, Gemini, etc....
