So I'm really enjoying these anime awards and stuff, and I think the jury has recognized some really good shows (way to go Adv/Fant jury, filling those spots with top quality content), but they've made some really weird and questionable decisions, and I think this Slice of Life category is the perfect example of that.

A lot of these entries shouldn't be here. Like, I can see the case for Takagi-san (who should have totally been nominated for antagonist, why couldn't the antagonist jury have been more creative?), but that show totally belongs in Comedy. But like, Cells at Work and fucking Cardcaptor Sakura of all things? For Slice of Life? What the fuck jury? Firstly Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card shouldn't be nominated for anything for being so disappointing compared to the original, but why isn't it Adv/Fant if it has to be anywhere? Like, what the fuck?

Also, why on earth did they combine the "Slice" and "Life" genres? There are easily at least 4 shows that could fit in each, and each would have an easy winner which would be great. It makes no sense combining these. It'd be like if a baking award combined pie and cake into the same category. Completely different.

But enough bitching and moaning, I'm still optimistic about these awards. Make sure to vote for Sora Yori for best Slice of Life today (can't believe that Antarctica snub for Antagonist though, that Antag jury fucking up really bad again, can't think outside the box?). Sora Yori deserves to win these whole awards, so it better at least win Slice of Life.
