So that’s a no.

Right now downtown is a slight mess (homeless crisis, crime is up, lots of business closed down due to Covid), but where she’s at in the suburbs is totally fine and nowhere near downtown. They’ve been strict on Covid BUT they are loosing restrictions really quickly and life is getting back to normal. I think a lot of it has to do with higher taxes, public schools aren’t the best in the country, high cost of real estate, and very few high paying job openings (Nike for example just had large layoffs). I have a handful of friends who have made the move to more affordable states or know older folks who have chosen to entire retirement somewhere else (with all that said it’s real hard to find the beauty of Oregon in other spots, & the all the free recreational activities the state offers, the state is really stunning and unique-no offense to Texas but you can’t beat the landscape here ).
