I have a similar question.

I'm currently an OPS fixed-term employee. I just received a job offer for a more desirable position, however the maximum starting salary per week is lower than what I earn currently as an hourly-waged employee.

I asked my soon-to-be new manager if I would be able to start at the maximum starting salary range and she said she will talk to HR.

Does anyone have any insight regarding this?

Example: Currently make 36 dollars and change per hour. This adds up to approx. 1460 weekly. The new position has a starting pay band range from 1066 to 1380 per week. Would I have to start at the $1066 per week?
