Tennessee gov: COVID vaccines to be optional in K-12 schools

As far as schools are concerned I would gladly keep my child out of a public school if I decided a vaccine wasn't worth the risk and they required it. I also am in the minority though in that I would be perfectly fine with school being all virtual also and although it's an entirely different subject, I hate that so many people consider school to be childcare and whine when they have to find something to do with their kids because they don't want to pay for childcare or make a backup plan.

I unfortunately have been in a position where I was given something that was new and caused major health issues and was later taken off the market and I'm dealing with the effects of that still so from my point of view, I will absolutely consider what I'm doing and how it affects me and my family personally before considering how it benefits the greater good. I'm fine with staying home and being in quarantine and wearing a mask and doing what I can to be safe and making things safer for those around me but there's a limit to that for me. Temporary inconveniences aren't an issue but the risk of taking something else and having more serious health issues for the rest of my life is something that I can't take lightly.

I realize that I'm coming from a place that the "but my freedoms" idiots aren't and there's a lot that are that way but as you pointed out, there is shittiness to both sides and it's going to be viewed as a black and white issue with only two points of view when there's a lot of grey area in the middle that's going to end up getting lumped into one side or the other and causing an issue regardless of what's decided.
