Why is terrorism for the most part a problem in the middle east and not as severe in other places?

Terrorism happens all over the world and is used by all kinds of people. It is a tool used by those without power in their struggle against those with power and it can be highly effective.

For example, the first instance of a car bomb (actually, this was a horse and buggy bomb) was in 1920 on Wall St. in New York City.

The attack was related to postwar social unrest, labor struggles, and anti-capitalist agitation in the United States.

10 years prior to this, there was another act of terrorism in the US against the Los Angeles Times...again thi was related to labor movement.

The zionists used terrorism against the British in their struggle to create Israel:

The King David Hotel bombing was a terrorist[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] attack carried out on Monday July 22, 1946 by the militant Zionist underground organization Irgun on the British administrative headquarters for Palestine, which was housed in the southern wing[9] of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.[10][11][12] 91 people of various nationalities were killed and 46 were injured.

The Irish Republican Army was notorious for it's use of terrorism against the British in Northern Ireland.

How about in modern day?

As Europol, the European Union’s law-enforcement agency, noted in its report released last year, the vast majority of terror attacks in Europe were perpetrated by separatist groups. For example, in 2013, there were 152 terror attacks in Europe. Only two of them were “religiously motivated,” while 84 were predicated upon ethno-nationalist or separatist beliefs.

Well, extremist Buddhists have killed many Muslim civilians in Burma, and just a few months ago in Sri Lanka, some went on a violent rampage burning down Muslim homes and businesses and slaughtering four Muslims.

Per the 2013 State Department’s report on terrorism, there were 399 acts of terror committed by Israeli settlers in what are known as “price tag” attacks. These Jewish terrorists attacked Palestinian civilians causing physical injuries to 93 of them and also vandalized scores of mosques and Christian churches.

An FBI study looking at terrorism committed on U.S. soil between 1980 and 2005 found that 94 percent of the terror attacks were committed by non-Muslims.
