Is there any flexibility with age requirements?

You really need to give the RAF as a whole a bit more research, i never said the RAF dont value skills, knowledge and experience, i said that they dont give you any preferential treatment because of it. Massive difference there.

In terms of putting yourself in the shoes of a recruiter, your application is a simple case of being eligible or not. Pilot is an Officer role, you need the GCSE’s as standard and as its an Officer, 2 A Levels or equivalent/higher. Then meet fitness and medical requirements. Other than that it is all how you perform in tests and how you portray yourself in interviews will determine whether you will succeed or not. Not prior experience.

You need to move away from this “safe bet” idea because just NO. It is not a thing. Let me put it to you this way; imagine your just applying, you have your qualifications and your experience as well, thats great. A guy is in your same P2 presentation who has just finished his A Level’s and has just left college and also pursuing the idea of being a Pilot. You are both the same in the eyes of the RAF, you both have the qualifications necessary to APPLY. You both then have to prove you have what it takes to succeed. Thats it, no special treatment for you.

This aptitude idea is baffling honestly. Let me put it to you again, you need A LOT more than Maths to be a good Pilot. Yes it will help of course it will, but as i said last comment, you need to be good a multitude of things. Have a look on the internet at CBAT testing for RAF pilot role, you’ll be shocked at what you have to test for. Maths is such a small part of the bigger picture.

I really dont get this to be honest, you obviously have a good degree of education and are academic. But you need to get off this pedestal you seem to think your on because of your experience and qualifications. Yes they are great and in a civilian job, some of your points may be perfectly valid and would set you above other applicants, but this is the RAF, it is not the same. If you were to pursue a career in the RAF for another role i would ask you to rethink your approach, it will benefit you massively.

Im just trying to help you, been nothing but polite but the way you have come across does not exactly ooze Officer potential. Sorry.
