Why didn't Parkman use his powers to save his family (rather than use kidnapping and threats)?

Why doesn't Matt use his powers to make his family love him?

I never understand why people act so stupid about things like Matt's powers. Of course he could use his powers to totally control everyone but that would completely destroy the plot. Implying that he should use them is ignoring that factor.

Even if he did "control" Erica he can't have total control over her because he still needs Erica to follow through with her plans to ensure his survival. The best you can assume is that Matt didn't want to fuck anything up in her mind or with anyone else (MF Harris calling him expendable) involved out of fear it would get him in trouble and left behind.

It can also be taken that Matt wants people to "do things" of their own free will. He wants to be loved by his wife and child. He wants to be on the team that lives. As a person who can make people do what he wants, the thing that means the most to him is when people WANT to do things for him and are not FORCED to.

Why did Quentin kill his sister to save Malina while she was all that was keeping Malina in the air?

This right here is the worst. Phoebe already KILLED Quentin with her umbrakinises tentacles. They can physically kill. Did you forget that? Like... really?

She is OBVIOUSLY squeezing the life out of her. You can see the pain Malina's face. She GRABBED her after she dropped her because she WANTED to kill her. If she hadn't grabbed her she would have grabbed onto the staircase like she did when Quentin shot Phoebe.

This question... I just... ugh shudders to self

At first they said they separate Claire's children so that Tommy didn't steal Malina's power, but then they reunited them and they made they touch each other not knowing what would happen.

Angela dreamed of the end of the world. In that vision Nathan and Malina were grown and at the Gateway clock tower. What Angela saw was them using their combined power WITH Noah but she did not know it was Noah. She did not KNOW how their power worked just that them COMING together resulted in an incredible force that stopped the HELE.

Naturally once they are born and she realizes they are Clair's children and she comes to several conclusions. One is that the boy absorbs abilities from other evos and the second is that the force that saves them in her vision came as a result of the children being close. As a precaution she splits them up until they can test their abilities.

She always knew they did something, her visions don't come with explanations so it didn't say exactly how it all happens. Rene was there with Angela so his was very likely preventing Nathan from absorbing any abilities. It's also very likely that Nathan can't absorb Malina's ability and her fear of keeping them separate was to prevent anything from happening prematurely.

Did no one read the scripts before green-lighting the series or what?

Yeah, this question pretty much sums up how you feel about Heroes. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it but don't try and make it seem like it's "missing content" or there's numerous plot holes. It's well put together and explained very well for the fans who are paying attention and enjoying it.

There's no doubt several aspects of the series could have been written better. No series is ever perfect and often times writers care less about universe and characters than fans do so it comes off as disappointing but you're making it seem like Reborn is a train wreck.

Certain parts of it could have been more detailed or powers used in different and other ways. Molly, Father Mauricio and Caspar died inconsequentially. Especially Mauricio since he died as a result of the writers NOT including Jose's power in anything of relevance, such as freeing Micah before the priest gets shot. Caspar can be forgiven because his entire run was perfect.

It's easy to talk down to the writers or to ignore aspects of a plot then make up reasons why things don't make sense. Especially when we're just experiencing the end product, in retrospect everyone is a backseat director but I think they did a nice job with the series. I noticed a lot of parallels to the original, nods, Easter eggs and it was done in a tone/style that reminded me of the original.

It's a better ending than we had to Heroes before. Which was Clair jumping off a Ferris wheel and then... noting.
