UPS guy gives no fucks

I'm not saying you're not going to cater to me just as much as I'm not going to cater you when it comes to something of 'just a minute.' A 'be right there' is so much better because a minute implies that I have to literally wait there a minute. That minute is me getting back into the package car, and moving onto the next stop. If you're a business and you have a customer, that minute is acceptable as you're tending to someone's needs.

Do I think you need to cater to me? Hell no, but I don't need to cater to your 'just a minute' because you are putting on clothes or whatever.

In the photo, the driver had no reason to leave the notice at all if the people were truly home. In my experience, only the hard of hearing or elderly leave something like this on their door. It's understandable to wait for them.

But seriously, I mean if you want to get angry about having to wait for a package, you can setup an access point and have it driver released every single time to your back door/side door/under the tree.

Now let's examine your statement of 'estimated delivery window of 8 fucking hours' and 'sometime today':

Your driver leaves the building around 8:45/9:00 AM. Chances are your package is being sent to your residence. You sent it 5-7 days shipping with no time commitments. You won't get your package before 10:30 AM as the next day air takes priority over everything else. You aren't a business, so all the businesses are going to be done first. Factor in the driver's lunch now and we are looking around 1 PM for the very earliest for them to deliver. Now, let's assume you live in a subdivision that isn't exactly the easiest to deliver in due to weirdly named streets and stupid ass roundabouts (sorry, where I live, this exists). After figuring out the path the handheld is going to have the driver take, they start and go about their way. The driver gets a good ways finished with it, but look, it's time for pickups. So the driver has to leave the area to go do his pickups, wait in traffic on the way back, and now it's around 4:30 or 5 pm. So in all reality, chances are someone is going to be home after then. If you aren't in and it requires a signature, the driver will more than likely check next door real quick to have them sign and then slap a notice on your door. This is what I personally do. I'm not coming back to your place again if I can avoid it.

But in all seriousness, don't do the 'just a minute' thing. Be right there is a lot better.
