As the dust settled and the smell of gun smoke disappeared from the air, Riv lay lifelessly next to the disused Sulphur Quarry. She drifted in and out of consciousness and her mind wandered back to happy times living in BoomCorp tower. She could see her colleagues returning to the Vampire Manner after a successful visit to the Military Tunnels. They were laughing about how they acquired a car from Rocket Pig and tried to sell it back to him. These images started to fade when she heard her colleague Sillstryparn saying “C’mon homie, don’t die on me now” in the Swedish accent she was so accustomed to hearing. She felt the sting of a medical syringe plunge into her body. She gasped deeply as she regained full consciousness. As she awoke she glanced over at Jimmy, he was trying his best to stem the bleeding from a sniper bullet wound “actually I... er... think I’ll be alright” he said with a Polish twang. “What happened?” Asked Riv. Sillstryparn replied “Gunnerz and a faulty hammer happened homie. I told you it wouldn’t work”. Riv wasn’t put off, she needed the Sulphur Quarry. “I’ll make it work she muttered to herself”.
