Washed my first car for the first time all by myself (sad but a big step for me). Have some questions for some problems I had.

1) Wash in washing machine with either a tiny amount of NON-BIO washing product or nothing at all. 2)Microfibre - Fast absorption, doesn't hold as much water as the others though. Soft, very good for polishing and applying/removing products. Sheepskin - Holds a shit load of water, extremely absorbent. Tends to snag on the surface once it's quite dry. If i'm being honest with you the best way to dry your car after washing is FAST. I use a big soft normal human towel and gently get most of the water off fast, this is the most important thing, then you can polish quickly with a microfibre to get any small lingering patches of water. Works perfect every time. I used to use chamois and all that shit but it's just a way for shitty car shops to sell you unnecessary stuff that takes up all the time you could be spending doing valuable work like claying

3)Same as washmitt. I bung all of my car cleaning textiles into the washing machine, little bit of non-bio and come out clean as a whistle (mostly).

4)Windows are a tricky one. If you want the best looking windows possible, go down to a hardware or similar place and get some methylated spirit. It's super cheap here in the UK so should be even cheaper if you're in the states. Apply that to a rag, work it into the window, it is a solvent that will dissolve THE SHIT out of EVERYTHING on your window. Normally i wash the whole car normally, dry the paintwork fast, leave the windows. Finish the car, then go back to the windows with the solvent as it's so easy. 5)I think we just covered that.

6) Same as the outside, methylated spirit. Also glass is extremely hard, the only thing which can scratch glass is diamond, otherwise you either smash it or it's fine. Use whatever you want providing it's not a diamond encrusted rag.

After a few cleans you'll start getting into the really nitty gritties of car detailing. Hope this helps.
