Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

I’ve been diagnosed on three separate occasions by different doctors. I haven’t washed my car in two years. I used to wash it weekly but not anymore. I don’t think think job really lends itself to the OCD brain like people think. Cleaning isn’t hard and it’s easy to see when something is or isn’t clean. Detailing just has a connotation with OCD because people stopped saying that were being nitpicky about details and started saying they are OCD about it.

I would say the biggest hindrance is when you over clean an area that either doesn’t need it or you end up wasting your time because you get bogged down because you “might as well clean this too” rather than just letting it be and managing expectations to what’s realistic in a certain time frame or based on what the customer asked for.
