Ya like I said, it works for certain dealers but not all. We are Canadian so there are definitely more US dealers that eat that stuff up at auction. Also, what you retail it for out of the gate and what you sell it for can be two very different things. It’s definitely not the same for all markets though. We are in a very competitive market where selling in volume can mean making $300-$500 on average for used cars and then making it up in the backend with the volume. My enterprise rep moved somewhere in the states where they must have very different franchise laws because everyone there just expected to gross $2000-$3000 on the front end of the deal which is something we haven’t seen in my part of Canada for about 15 years. Every dealer and every market is different. Very occasionally a dealer might make $10k on the front of a $100,000 truck but everyone assumes dealers make that much on every deal which I would love but it’s not true for anyone unless you are doing something illegal. But ya, rambles on but point is, every market and dealer is different.
