Moana’s song, “How far I’ll go,” helped to fuel my courage to finally look into “outside” resources about the history of the strict controlling religion I was born into. They use fear to keeps its members to only read “approved” sources and it keeps members in their control. This song (and basically the whole movie) helped to fuel my courage to finally look into the “real” history of the church I was born into to realize everything I felt deep inside was spot on. Once I discovered the real truth about the church and how it deceives its members I walked away feeling the freest I’ve ever felt my whole life and I’ve never looked back. This song described perfectly how I felt trying to live in that religion and longing for freedom but felt trapped until I had the courage to investigate. Never let fear keep you from looking up the truth! ❤️
