What is your controversial Superman movie opinion?

all Superman media has to pay homage to Reeve and straying too far is blasphemous

Can you really blame fans for worshipping Reeve when he 100% embodied the character, with possibly the greatest comic to film translation of a superhero in the history of the genre?

The reason Reeve is worshipped is because he played the character at his height.

Snyder is the sole reason Cavill’s Superman couldn’t have that same appeal, because he’s an edgelord who doesn’t understand or even like the character. Cavill is more like Superman in his interviews than in Snyder’s films. It’s a failure of writing & direction, nothing to do with Reeve’s legacy, because fans have universally embraced Cavill as a great Superman burdened with terrible writing. Just look at how positive his “I believe in truth” scene was received from an otherwise awful film.
