What's something you've learned during didactic that wasn't directly taught in school?

Probably not shocking, but you'll do much better in topics that you are truly interested in. Nearly my entire class struggled with Pulm, but I found Pulm pathophys so fascinating that I was watching videos about it on a Saturday night just to find out more. Typically there's hardly ever time for that in PA school, but Pulm has still been a topic I feel very confident in and it was entirely because I was interested and spent that extra time on it.

Other than that... I agree - mandatory lectures are usually a thing to sit through so then you can go home and teach yourself. It's frustrating, but as I keep reminding myself - it's only 2 years.
