I used to work at a grocery store back in college and this lady who was a regular always had the snobbiest attitude. You know that type of person who didn’t do anything in life, but who married someone who did? This was her. Anyways, I come in late one day because I had a midterm and as I proceed to my work area (frozen food) she stops me mid-walk and demands to know why we were out of her favorite bullshit item. She has this entitled look on her face as if I was the sole person responsible for why her day was suddenly ruined. I replied with ‘I’m sorry about that ma’am (insert customer service apology here), we should have it in stock again by the end of the week.”

This wasn’t a good enough answer for her and she asks me how I expect to rise through the ranks of a minimum wage grocery store when it was obvious to her that I didn’t care about this job.

‘You’re right, I don’t care. I just got here’.

She flipped her shit because I was apologetic enough and immediately wanted to speak to the manager. Upon hearing me ‘disrespect’ that I have to the customer I was told the next day that I would be transferred a to a different store in the hood of San Bernardino California. All over a stupid microwaveable pizza
