In your opinion, why do you think voiced protagonists didn't work for Fallout but worked for Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Cyberpunk 2077, etc.?

I should say up front that I've only played a male character, so I can really only speak to that voice. Having said that, the voice they used just isn't very good IMO. He sounds like a milquetoast, white, suburban dad, which is neat if that's what you want your character to be, but if I want my character to look like Trevor from GTA V, I don't want him to sound like Danny Tanner.

Also, I feel like in general it's tricky to have voiced characters in a game where you choose from a series of dialogue options rather than a game that is truly scripted. It makes some of the dialogue feel disjointed and unnatural and it just kinda feels like they would have been better not using voice actors.

Cyberpunk has some similar issues, IMO. The difference to me is just that those voice actors did a much better job than whoever did the voices in FO4.
