~$1200 1440p casual gaming/programming build

For programming, virtual machines, and gaming, I have found myself to be a huge fan of the value of AMD outdated piledriver. I do not believe you can find more value (in terms of initial cost and long-term cost) right now. I expect to retire my similar build, with it's High Efficiency PSU , to the server closet when better CPU comes out (1-2 yrs, right?). But even then - it will make an energy efficient lab build. I'd buy a cool case, and mount this in a milk-crate when you upgrade.
