This sub lately:

I remember when I first joined this sub (which really wasn't too long ago), I was stoked because to me, it was another source of techniques and videos that I didn't already find on my own. Almost suddenly, it just became a platform for white belts and noobs to whine and ask stupid questions.

what Kit said in a concurrent thread about steroid allegations is absolutely true - people are just finding reasons to feel sorry for themselves.

who gives a FUCK about what the next guy over is doing? YOU just go train, period. guy rolls too hard? Don't roll with him. End of story.

Guy requests you roll light but then goes ape shit? Call him out or don't roll with him. End of story. Don't go on here posting and bitching about it to get validation. That does absolutely nothing for your jiu jitsu. It's amazing how jiu jitsu guys will never hesitate to spew jiu jitsu ideology "oh u gotta let go of ur ego brah" but so many threads/complaints are a direct manifestation of ego.

You suck at [insert something]? Instead of ranting, bitching, or whining, why don't you just ask for some help and/or resources and try to improve? We've all been white belts, we've all been there. You're just rehashing the same shit by complaining about it or feeling sorry for yourself.

It's also ridiculous how many posts we get asking about fucking ringworm and training while sick or [insert something similar]. It's been beaten to death. Take two seconds to do a search. Even white or blue belts will respond within 2 seconds that no, you should NOT train until you're better. What's worse is that those threads are the most popular too because you get white and blue belts chiming in because that's really the only thing they feel they have an authority to speak about.

At the end of the day, if a guy was stronger and he beat your ass, that's your fucking problem. Your technique sucked too much to stop him. Period. I dunno, maybe my theory is that since jiu jitsu is easy, you get all these mentally weak people who take it up and so they whine a lot.

Easy... NOT as in you can master this art quickly or whatever, but as in..it's a helluva lot easier to pick up as a hobby than getting punched in the face ten times every time you train. There's a lower filter.

Also,...who gives a FUCK if someone is pretending to be a black belt. If you suck ass, you're going to be exposed. Period. The next time you roll with a blue, purple, or whatever belt, you're going to be exposed. Him faking his black belt has NO bearing on YOUR growth as a person or your jiu jitsu. Period. You think you're doing the world a service by exposing him?? do you really believe that?? you want to put someone "in their place"... how is that letting go of ego?
Plus..if someone like that is actually running a successful business...those people just wanna be scammed. So many silly martial arts exist out there that we know aren't effective...but they still have many students. Obviously, those students are getting something out of the martial arts that we simply don't understand...but that's their right.

:)
