There's the Luciferian Path on the Right Hand (too much light), the Ahrimanic Path (pure materialism/atheism) on the Left Hand, and then there's the Christic Path in the Middle/ Buddha and the Middle Way.
LaVey claimed Lucifer was the Left Hand Path, but Ahrimanic would be closer to the Satan image.
If you look at paintings of Jesus and the two thieves, Lucifer is pictured on the crucifix on his left and the figure is looking towards the Christ figure. The Ahrimanic figure is on the right and looking away from Christ. Very powerful imagery.
The story goes back to the garden of Eden, but basically it boils down to we have two Tempters inside just like the Christ Jesus. You balance the forces and don't fall victim to either extreme if you want to take the Middle Way.
I believe this is represented in the Caduceus emblem. The two snakes spiraling upwards and feathery wings at the very top, which also looks exactly like our DNA. All three forces are already in us.
The Serpents Seed is the idea that the Serpent also impregnated eve, but people have preached some BS racial "Doctrine" with it. But the story itself is an interesting one.
Abel's line was the normal seed and Cain's was the Serpent seed.
Lucifer had too much Light. Too much pride. Sex, drugs, rock&roll, Ego, individuation, etc... But supposedly we needed that and it was a huge boon to our evolution from a creative and even spiritual aspect.
Then the Christic era came into play.
Now the Ahrimanic period is coming or already upon us. Pure materialism and no Light. Cold rational logic and the cult of modern Science (the new Church). Which we also needed on some level.
It's when we get out of balance and start going to either extreme.
The Luciferic Path is the long path. Since you chose that side, you will reincarnate at a denser level in the next incarnation. It keeps getting denser and denser, but eventually all your karma will be burned out of you and you will rejoin the perfect Godhead/Cosmic Unity.
The right hand, or Ahrimanic Path, doesn't lead anywhere.
The Christic Path will have you evolving to the lighter dimension in the next incarnation. Lighter and lighter until you merge with the Godhead again/Universe.
Some say these powers have been represented in living avatars. Lucifer around 3000 BC in Asia. Christ in the Near East. I forget about Ahrimanic but it might be in the West. That would make since, but it might have been somewhere else. Anyway, that's if you believe these powers were incarnated on Earth, in the flesh in real living embodiment of men.

Been reading a lot of Rudolph Steiner lately. Trying to go the Middle Way as I understand things. Makes a lot sense to my mind the way he breaks things down.
I guess that would make the LaVeyian satanists on the right hand/Ahrimanic Path, really. Fascists, materialists, and atheists too.
A lot of the Tantric stuff would fall on the Left Hand Path as well. (Vamachara, Dark Kali, Aghori etc...)
Seems there's always a third force balancing the polarity of the (seeming) duality, or it transcends them.
