  1. What does the company do?

Tuft’s HealthPlan is a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing high quality health care coverage. The plan offers members and employers a variety of health management programs, which support evidence-based approaches to health and wellness.

  2. Tell about the job: A Customer Service Specialist assists established members with their benefits through Tuft’s. Help navigate members through their plans, help set up plans; I’d be working with 65+ year old members and their Medicare plans. Provide customer service and data entry.

  3. Why am I interested in the job? I have experience with data entry, processing documents, and customer service. I believe I’d make a great addition to the organization because my enthusiasm and strong work ethic. I do have experience making phone calls to senior patients at the VA hospital, which entailed scheduling appointments. I pay attention to detail and am a focused individual. I have worked in a healthcare setting before and can communicate with people in person or on the telephone.

  4. When have I gone above and beyond for a client? At the VA, one patient wanted to schedule an appointment for a general checkup with her doctor. Turns out she was deleted from the patient record system. I helped re-register her and entered her information to ensure she was a listed patient again. Then did a follow up call to schedule a doctor’s appointment for her. As a scheduler, I didn’t have to do this but I did to aid the patient and save her the trouble of calling different departments.

  5. Questions: What’s a typical workday like here in this position? Tell me about the employee culture here at Tufts.
