This is so true tbh, my mom was actually told me the same thing a couple of years ago and we live in America lol. At all the weddings we go off it feels like the guests are just trying to show off. They get their hair and makeup professionally done, wear lehengas with heavy work, heavy jewelry and the big tikkas, etc. Sometimes I don’t even think the heavy makeup and big jewelry pieces look good on everyone. And mind you a lot of these guests may not be immediate family either. Everyone’s trying to one up each other but let the bride shine you know? I miss seeing more simple wedding outfits too like what Aishwarya is wearing, but now there’s pressure as the bride to stand out.
