Alex's STEM career interests are all over the place

my MIL is a chemist and Nobel Laureate who holds board/director seats at Caltech, Google, and US government. She is a woman in STEM that has multiple degrees varying from Russian Literature, to Astronautical Engineering. It isn’t uncommon for people that excel in the STEM part of education to focus on all areas of STEM, and be knowledgeable in all of them as well. They kind of relate to each other. It’s taken her 40+ years to achieve multiple things, and become experts in all of her fields.

That being said, I find it hard to believe that a 20–22 year old Alex would have the time and enough of a focus to do all the things she was doing. And it seems odd that she’d go into AI of all things? She didn’t seem much of a programmer/coder/computer engineer. But when you are good at most things in your field, you tend to branch out and find out that you are good at other fields too! I just find it hard to believe that at her age she was holding down like 7 different projects and interests. I’m 26 and can barely figure out what I’m going to cook for dinner.
