This letter and its enclosures further respond to your July 20, 2012 COlTespondence to the
Attorney General to which I responded on behalf of the Department of Justice on November 26,
was a substantial likelihood that information provided to your office by former FBI employee
Scott A. MacDonald disclosed a violation oflaw, rule or regulation, gross mismanagement, a
gross waste offunds, and an abuse of authority. With my November 26 letter, I enclosed a
report and attachments as a summary of our investigation and findings with respect to this matter
as required under 5 U.S.C. § 1213. The Attorney General delegated to me authority to review
and sign the report in accordance with section l213(d).
With this correspondence, I am submitting to you a revised report and a revised redacted
report to reflect changes necessary to ensure compliance with our statutory obligation in an
appropriate format that also permits publication of the redacted report by your office and
disclosure of the report to Mr. MacDonald. The redactions are intended to protect law
enforcement sensitive infonnation, privacy protected information, and other confidentiality
interests.
