As a guy who does the same thing my girlfriend and I had a chat about it. Instead of limiting time she understands that it's basically a hobby at this stage of life. She has no interest in gaming however she wants to get involved even if its just watching me play or chatting about what I play. And it's even led to surprises where she completely pulled the wool over my eyes and bought me the BFA expansion for WoW, for our anniversary of all thinga. We watched the Warcraft movie and I was telling her about the lore and the characters interspersed within the movie and because she loved the movie she wanted to know more. I'd complained I'd never been able to get into WoW because of money or resources so she just got me the expansion!

My point is that your partner wouldn't judge you, even if they're not interested there will be things that we wouldn't be interested in each other but we can still be inclusive and become involved through different methods. He did you a favour, it would have gone sour eventually.
