This is Neil from Dirt Poor Robins. Over the past few years, we have had a number of new fans tell us that they were recommended to check us out by one of the members of The Dear Hunter. After running into this a lot, I finally decided to give them a listen on a road trip this summer. Holy Goodness, I think they are amazing! I know I am late to the party but they are easily my favorite musical discovery this year. Brilliant.

As far as their song copying us, I don't see that at all as the case. Yes there are some similarities in the variations of the chords in the piano part, (and it is the same mode and key) but it is definitely not the same part.

Their 2015 release "At the End of the Earth" is an incredible original piece of music.

Also, Solemn Awakening is a Reprise of a song from The Raven Locks Act 1 called "Solemn Dream" 2013

If someone here plays piano and learned both parts, I think it would be easy them to learn both and articulate the difference.
