I have a Hitachi magic wand, the corded version. About $80. It has a Hi/Lo settting and you can get different heads for it (they slide on over the regular soft white head like a hat). There is a rechargeable version for about $150. Try and snag it on a discount for sure.

I also have Adam and Eves knock off of the magic wand, that has more vibration levels and some pulse patterns but it's doesn't have the same uumph.

They're both pretty loud. You could probably hear it through a closed door, not as bad if you're under covers. If you're using it for couples time it can take some practice to angle it in between without getting in the way.

The vibrations on the Hitachi are definitely better, if you're sensitive I can see it making you sore. But if it's fun along the way... :D
