Why are the "chili never should have beans in it" people so insufferable?

I'm embarrassed to say I did this with bartending. I realize now it's just the process and those who aren't really into providing a good drink for someone who wants one, never get over it. When you're blissfully obsessed with a new passion, its hard not to take on some snobbery. You want your customers to understand you know the best god damn drink they'll everhave. You've learned the magic of bitters and house made infusions and smashes. You debate with your colleagues the pros and cons of small nuances in these fucking excellent well planned menus. And the thing is that totally fucking rules. People WILL appreciate it. But other people won't. They want what they want. Unless you hit the lottery... you're not working at The Aviary. So here's the thing. Flex your creative muscles when you can. The people who want craft will ask for it. Plenty of other people are just trying to order a drink and enjoy their life. Show those people a good fucking time too. This is just my own experience and I wish I had learned earlier because I ended up expanding my horizons more giving people what they want more than what I thought they wantrd
