Why are starches more satiating then non-starchy vegetables?

Yes complex carbs are very satiating -- but only in studies done on people whose diets were already high in fat and protein. All studies done on low-fat low-protein diets have found that they are far less satiating than nearly any other diet, about the same as low-carb diets. Restrictive diets generally aren't sustainable for most people because they just never feel satisfied. There's been plenty of research to confirm this, just search NCBI. Sure eating low calorie dense foods can make some people lose weight, and if that works for them great, but other people in the vegan community say they gained weight on HCLF because they were so hungry they overate calories anyway. I was on the starch solution for many years and that never went away for me, ultimately I started eating more fat and beans/tofu and I felt a lot better. Not as thin, but I'd rather be a bit heavier than be hungry and feeling unwell all the time. It's not the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that its advocates always present it as.
