I play a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow and I can usually shred this every time. My RB and LB have Wing skills,.speed and insane crossing. My RB has Playmaker trait as well. The deep Middle is either my CDM (Tonali) or my CM who is an anchor type CM. The other two R/LCM's are very rounded and have good defensive skills. CAM is a fast all around offensive playmaker and poacher. You can also fill that role with a well rounded CF. 2 ST right and left. Book ends, or Playmaker/Poacher combo.

My RB and LB almost always burn the 3 back system when I have them.come down on wing ... Even in AI. So, I literally just have to time my crosses as AI will have them protect the box. If that gets shut down, my speed in front usually opens the pass lanes to score through the middle.

For instructions I would have my Wings as defensive and defend toward the wings, not middle. Then balance your Midfield to defend enough. Non AI will be different of course... Depends.on how you play.
