Is baruch a semi-target school?

Ik you have pride for the school, and as an alumni I do love this school as well. I know you’re mod, so please don’t ban me for disagreeing with you. I just want students to have correct information.

Baruch is NOT a target or semi-target school for finance. The term “target” is for the schools that all of the firms go to for their high prestige roles. For example Many IVY’s, as well as other top schools are considered targets because basically every single firm recruits at that school for IB, PE, and other high finance roles. Semi-target is for schools that many firms come to but not all.

That being said, it is still very possible for Baruch students to land high finance roles. I’ve done it myself. It’s just not as easy as it is at the target schools. The target schools have all the top firms doing OCR for all their high finance roles there. NO firms do OCR at Baruch for their high finance roles. Just because Morgan Stanley and other big banks recruit for a couple positions at Baruch doesn’t make them a target. Many of those are back office roles. Although good career options, The term “target school” is used when referring to high finance roles.

All that being said, Baruch is a TARGET school for accounting though. All the top accounting firms post all their positions at Baruch.
