There is a simple fix: require police to wear bodycams at all times and makes it accessible on demand to other law enforcement and investigative bodies. Any intentional data loss or purge will result in a presumption of guilt on the police officer in question’s part. In addition, every law enforcement employee will be held accountable for their actions, and the police departments will cease to use public funds to settle damages caused by police officers. Any such settlements will be paid for in full by the police union or the police pension plan. Make any punishment for law enforcement officials harsher because they need to be held at a higher standard of morals.
