Is being a member of the military while holding Minarchist/Libertarian beliefs hypocritical?

Really? Are you sure you didn't just hate the hierarchical, top-down nature of the US military? What specifically about military service made you "loath" the US government? Also, what does "infantry" mean? You realize all enlisted AND officers in the Corps and Army are infantry 1st, and specialization 2nd, so where you in an infantry regiment?

Look, hate to be this guy but I'm calling bullshit. Your reddit history doesn't point to service, but maybe I'm wrong. Reserves and National Guard obviously do NOT count as "infantry" but you didn't disclose that. But if you despise the US gov then why stay for 6 years? Standard is to get out after 5 or 4 post tour or duty assignment, the pay is shit, and unless you went to a service academy or ROTC you aren't locked into a contract.

My bias? Dad and Mom were both Marine Officers. I spent my life on base and around other Marines, Enlisted, Warrant, and Officers. I know this world in and out, and I know it's not for me, but I have immense respect for those who fought in the line of duty. I'd say that half of those people are generally jaded towards the military, and many I'd consider libertarian, but none would say it's some evil empire that attacks other countries willy nilly.

Ok this is getting a bit long, I'm drunk af now. Have a good life and enjoy the reddit.
