bi irl

I see this as being about the metric ton of baggage that comes with the label “wife,” when you’re a bi woman who fits into society’s standard hetero image. Not about literally not wanting to marry a man or men being bad, just about not wanting to think of yourself as “a wife” bc of all that baggage and being read as straight. Whereas being a wife to a woman feels like casting off that baggage and those assumptions about roles and marriage, which feels fun and affirming! Maybe this is me bringing my own experience in, or giving too much benefit of the doubt, but I just didn’t read this as being about men at all, but about how bi ppl can feel different in different relationships.
