Assembly is also simpler than C, but that doesn't mean it is easier to use nor that it requires any less knowledge than C. It is different.

The lower you get, the more you need to know about memory, circuitry, data structures, pointers, protocols, physics and all kinds of headaches you normally take for granted...

But sadly, that isn't the case here..

People love to complain about C++ because it is a language that wasn't made with orthogonality in mind but fluff and love. Many of its features where added without too much thought given in to it just because they could. Don't get me wrong, I like many of these features, but you have to be really careful of how you use C++. I personally don't use it anymore, but when I did, I purly used it as an application language.

IMO, it would have been long dead if it wasn't for microsoft doing a good job of maintaining this monster. I don't even understand where they found people that could. This isn't something a mere mortal can do.

LDAP is also another example of something that is too mean to exist. I don't know how to explain this. Imagine if brainfuck became an industrial standard.. You try to voice your concern over its unnecessary complexity, only to be rebutted by people who don't get what you are talking about and that "it is simple". I can only imagine how far these people would go if they used their intellectual prowess into something that was actually simpler... Like secrets of immortality or how to get a date.
